May Mission:  St. Luke’s May Mission is Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles (HHLA) which has been partnering with faith communities for several years to build 10 new condominiums on Globe Avenue in Culver City. The plans are complete. All four floor plans are two stories and one unit will have a den and downstairs bathroom for handicap accessibility. The homes feature insulation with recycled content, energy efficient heating systems, low-flow plumbing fixtures, solar power, and drought tolerant yards. Faith-based coalitions have made commitments of over $800,000 with $1.5 million the target for beginning construction. The Presbytery of the Pacific has contributed $165,660.52 with $10,000 more pledged.  St. Luke’s already contributed $2270 and 4 volunteer laborers for a day in 2016. Now we have a chance to make this dream a reality for 10 needy families who will provide up to 500 hours of sweat equity to earn their homes.
